About a month ago, I let you know that our annual meeting between the province’s registered political parties and Elections Saskatchewan would take place on Tuesday, June 11. I’m happy to be able to provide a few more details about that meeting.
We will be meeting in the boardroom at the Saskatchewan Science Centre (2903 Powerhouse Drive) here in Regina. It will be most convenient to park outside the doors of the Kramer IMAX Theatre and enter there.
Our day will begin at 10 a.m.; we’ll meet throughout the day and then break before meeting again for dinner and conversation at the Diplomat Steakhouse (2032 Broad Street) at 5:30 p.m.
You are welcome to attend along with one other representative from your political party. Given that we will administer a general election this fall, I think you will find the content informative and helpful to your planning. We’ll cover political finance and every party’s responsibility under the province’s laws as well as provide detailed information on what to expect in terms of voter strike off information, vote counting and other important details.

Vote by Mail Applications
On Wednesday, June 5, my office will begin accepting Vote by Mail applications for the upcoming general election.
Vote by Mail is a voting opportunity that has been created by CEO Directive but is heavily based on the instructions and rules around “absentee voting” provided in The Election Act, 1996. We introduced the vote by mail process in advance of our 2020 general election and it was well received by voters, and I believe, parties and candidates. For this election, I anticipate that vote by mail will once again be well used and relied upon by many, whether they are traveling out of province or simply prefer to avoid voting in person.
Once the application period opens, interested voters can apply online or using a hard copy form that can be emailed or mailed to my office (of course, no ballot kits are mailed until the election has been called). You will likely notice advertisements for vote by mail throughout the month of June before pausing for the summer months and picking up again in September.
